⚠️ IMPORTANT: This service is for informational purposes only. It is NOT a certified aviation safety system and must NOT be used as the sole basis for any safety-critical decision.

1. Nature of ADS-B Data

ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) is a surveillance technology in which aircraft determine their position via satellite navigation and periodically broadcast it. This data is not verified or certified by any aviation authority.

ADS-B data may be:

  • Delayed — signal processing and transmission introduce latency
  • Incomplete — not all aircraft are equipped with ADS-B transponders
  • Inaccurate — transponder errors can result in wrong position, altitude, or speed data
  • Spoofed — ADS-B signals are unencrypted and can theoretically be falsified
  • Missing — military, state, and some private aircraft may not broadcast

2. Coverage Limitations

Our receiver network does not cover the entirety of Nigerian airspace. Coverage depends on:

  • The geographic location and height of our ground-based receivers
  • The line-of-sight between receiver and aircraft
  • Atmospheric conditions and RF interference
  • Receiver hardware uptime and connectivity

Aircraft flying below certain altitudes, in mountainous terrain, or beyond our receiver range may not be detected. Absence of an alert does NOT confirm the absence of aircraft activity.

3. Alert Reliability

Alerts are generated automatically by software algorithms. They may:

  • Be delayed due to system processing time or network latency
  • Fail to deliver due to email filtering, Telegram delivery failures, or service outages
  • Contain false positives caused by transponder anomalies
  • Miss genuine events due to coverage gaps or receiver downtime

A missed or delayed alert must never be interpreted as confirmation that no relevant aircraft activity occurred.

4. Not an Official Aviation Source

This service is independent of and not affiliated with:

  • Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)
  • Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA)
  • Nigerian Air Force (NAF)
  • Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)
  • Any other government aviation body

For authoritative flight information, contact the relevant official aviation authority.

5. No Liability for Reliance

We expressly disclaim all liability for any loss, damage, injury, or consequence arising from reliance on information provided by this Service. Users who make decisions based on our alerts do so entirely at their own risk.

This Service should be used only as one of multiple information sources, never as the sole basis for decisions involving safety, security, or legal compliance.

6. Third-Party Data

Aircraft registration, operator, and image data displayed on this platform is sourced from publicly available databases. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or currency of this information.

7. Changes

This disclaimer may be updated at any time without prior notice. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
